So I knew as soon as I started school, I would drop the ball and be MIA from the blogging world. If you could see how our house has looked, you'd see I've been MIA from all laundry, cooking, and cleaning activities as well. One of the worst feelings for me is feeling like I can never keep up with things, so I've had a couple of freak-out nights where it seems like everything's spinning out of control and there's just not time to get caught up on things that need to be done. And then I always think, "AND we're about to add a newborn to the picture!?" During my freak-outs, I usually end up going on about how I always feel like a failure because I can't get it together enough. And of course my sinful self will always fall for the lie that what I do or accomplish at the end of the day measures my worth. So I'm learning more and more to cling to Truth in these moments...these last weeks really.
Anyway, so this is what we've been doing: Andy and I have been carpooling, so we leave about 6:20 each morning and get home around 5:30 or so. By the time we scavenge to find something to eat, check our email, watch a little Olympics, and do some school work (me), the day's over (I know everyone else's life is just as busy). And as soon as I'm still at night anywhere for more than 3 minutes--couch, chair, bed, or floor, you name it--I'm gone. We've been on-the-go and having a great time enjoying our last weeks as just the two of us...unfortunately, I left our camera at school so I don't have pictures to upload..but be looking for them soon! I am enjoying the school year so far, and am loving getting to know my little second graders. I have felt really energized each day and am not swelling up yet, so we've been so grateful.
Baby news:
-We finished the nursery a few weeks ago before school started, and I am so glad. I really wanted to be completely ready for him before got back to work. I just need to get some Dreft and start washing all of his little things : )
-I am going to the doctor every week now. When she checked me yesterday, I was dilated...drum roll....zero cm! How's that for exciting? But we still have 4 weeks, so we want him to bake a little longer.
-We are going ahead and packing our hospital bags this weekend (you have to be very prepared at 0 cm.). We're also going on a hospital tour and getting preregistered there today.
-We are taking childbirth classes and have been learning a lot! They are really funny and horrifying at the same time.
-We babysat our neighbor's 10-month old last night and were completely scarred (esp. Andy). I have never ever heard a baby scream for so long and with so much force..well over an hour and completely inconsolable. So what we thought would be good practice was in reality unnerving, if not terrifying (once again, particularly if you're Andy who hasn't really dealt with a baby going ballistic..not that I've seen a case like that before either). But I'm glad the parents had a night to themselves...
All this to say, time is flying by! Teaching has made the weeks pass so quickly. We cannot believe we'll meet our little boy so soon. It's all so exciting..and so weird. Sometimes it doesn't seem real. I guess you can only process it so much. So we are waiting with eagerness and anticipation to see how it all unfolds! We would love any prayers if we come to mind. More updates soon!

You finally updated the blog! I check everyday for baby news and am now appeased. I can't wait to meet Myles! I know you are probably so ready and anxious all at the same time. I will definitely be praying for him and you and Andy. Love you!
-A. Bradsher
We (well, I am and I guess Grayben, too since he is usually with me) are praying for all three of you. Whenever I am awake with Grayben in the night, we pray for you. I am getting so excited about meeting baby Myles. It is going to be wonderful. I promise.
Also, we bought a bunch of clothes for G today that I'm excited about handing down to Myles! It helps me to rationalize purchases.
Love you guys so much.
