First Mother's Day

Ours was a busy one. I loved every minute spent with my sweet boys.

The day was filled with some of my favorite things:

-sunshine, coffee and breakfast on the porch here...

-presents...

The Zoo--We went ahead and purchased a membership...pays for itself in 3 visits!

-Zoo Bird Show--not my favorite, but something fun to do. I will continue to admire birds from a distance...one of them even freaked and planted himself on an audience member's shoulder. yikes.
-Bumping into old friends...

-Funny Animals...

Apparently goats wear this boy out...

We all went out for Chinese last night, too, and that was such a treat. The action-packed day has resulted in one tired baby--as I write this morning, we are on hour 12 of uninterrupted sleep : )

I thought about my mom a lot yesterday and missed celebrating with her in person. When I was a teenager I never wanted to be like my mom (who did?), but now I can only hope to be a mom who loves so well. There are so many ways I want to be more like you, mama. I'm just now understanding just how fiercely you loved us, now that I have a child of my own. I love Myles better because of the way you have always loved me. Thank you for being you!

Sometimes I feel like my heart just might pop I love our son so much. And how much deeper is the Father's love for us. and for our baby. I spent yesterday overwhelmed with these things.
