Chi-Town

Andy and I just returned from visiting the great city of Chicago. Neither of us had ever been, so we were so excited to go. It was a packed trip and we were constantly on the go, so we saw a lot of what the city had to offer. We saw a show, went to Second City Comedy Club (where lots of stars got started), went to the beach (Lake Michigan--so beautiful!), went to a Cubs game, visited the Lincoln Park Zoo, explored the Art Institute, and went to the Taste of Chicago Festival (we saw Bonnie Raitt there for free--and how could you not love that?). I told Andy as we were leaving that even though we did so much, I felt like we were leaving with a ton left to enjoy for our next trip there. It's a good feeling to know you can come back to a city and have a totally different experience the second time around. We both agreed that we could live there, too. I absolutely love vacationing in big cities, but it's always a struggle because part of me longs to live in a fast-paced, progressive town like Chicago. We were glad to be back in Nashville, though--it's the perfect combination of things we love about a city. I was glad we made it back safe and sound and that baby Myles survived the trip (without an early arrival on the plane--my biggest worry of the week!). We went to the doctor yesterday for my 29 week appointment, and everything looks great. He's been very active lately--the doctor had trouble reading his heartbeat, because every time she put the monitor on my stomach he would kick it away. Looks like we might have our hands full with a spunky one : ) We are getting so excited that he's coming soon and cannot WAIT to meet our sweet little one.

Lake Michigan and skyline...
Taste Fest--somehow they pull off this awesome event (like Beale St. Music Fest) for FREE...

Yay for Bonnie! You would not believe how much people in Chicago like to dance to her music...Great for my favorite past time--people watching/laughing...

In Grant Park...

Absolutely loved being at the art institute...that's me with the belly

Chilling at the park after tons of walking almost killing me...not a happy moment..

Look, I found a Panda at the zoo...and no, his name isn't Ya Ya or Le Le...

Cubbies beat the Reds!

Andy gets to try beer at all the restaurants, I get desserts...Fair enough.
