Something horrible happened this week. Upon looking out the window Wednesday morning, I noticed the Comcast man working outside our house. And then it happened...the Law and Order I was watching on TNT suddenly turned into a jumbled, fuzzy mess. It was a day I had been fearing since we moved into our house five months ago. You see, when we moved in and set up cable, Andy told the company we only wanted limited basic cable (a decision I had reluctantly agreed to at the time). Somehow though, they set up basic cable, giving us 70+ channels to enjoy. Andy called and told them about the mistake, but they didn't change it. So we were paying next to nothing and enjoying all this great cable. Until now. I knew the day was coming when they would decide to make it out here to take away our freebies, but I secretly hoped it would never come. I realize this is pathetic and makes me sound like a slothful couch potato. I really don't devote THAT much time to TV, I just liked to have a handful of shows to get into...especially with other people. I fully intended to have Project Runway get-togethers at our house every Wednesday night this season. I guess we'll resort to Wheel of Fortune parties now instead. The logical, mature part of me agrees with my husband that this is best since we don't need to make TV such a part of our day, especially as we welcome kids into our lives. I always said when kids come, cable's gone. And that day has come. What new parent has the time anyway (not to mention what mom watches the Hills)?...and that 40-50 bucks a month could most certainly go to better use. Above you will find my most favorite cable shows that will no longer be on in our living room. Please respectfully do not mention recent, juicy happenings on any of these in my company. Full focus now goes to The Office, Grey's, and Desperates. Any other suggestions? And props to my sensible hubby who is not giving into me on this one, despite my pitiful mentionings of all we'll be missing. Since when do girls care more about TV than boys? Really, I'm thankful...well, on to laundry and baking which I can easily fit into my schedule...because I'm sure not watching Judge Judy..Yet.
*I am fully aware how juvenile and bratty this entire post is...and how patheic it is that I could write so much on the subject of cable.

This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time--I really thought it was going to be Andy's first post on y'all's blog! I don't mean it's funny that you lost your favorite shows at ALL--your post was just so funny! Tell you what, I'll tape those shows for you if you'll tell me what channel they are even on--how sad is it that I probably get them and don't even appreciate it. You crack me up, little Kelly Dawn . . .with what you was sayin' . . .
